Around 7 p.m. on August 5, Texas A&M Forest Service received a request for assistance on a fire burning 10 miles northeast of Jacksboro along Highway 59 in Jack County, Texas. The fire is burning in hardwood timber and grass fuels.

Texas A&M Forest Service has mobilized the following to assist with response efforts: fire managers and miscellaneous overhead, dozers, engine crews, and a suppression crew module from Texas Intrastate Fire Mutual Aid System (TIFMAS).

Agency crews will continue constructing containment line and improving the existing containment line around the fire, Engine crews will assist with mop-up operations and structure protection as needed. Air craft have been ordered to be on scene as early as possible to assist with containment efforts. Additional agency taskforces have also been brought in to assist.
