The Wahoo Peak Fire was started by lightning on July 29, 2023 and is burning within a remote part of the Selway-Bitterroot Wilderness (SBW) in Idaho. As of August 10th, it is approximately 80 acres and burning around 6300 feet on a south aspect with rock outcrops upslope. Burn scars from fires in the early to mid-2000’s nearly surround the fire.

Though there are currently no trail closures in place, use caution when traveling in the wildfire area, especially on Indian Lake Trail #631 and the Lost Horse Trail #430 (near Indian Lake). Trail closures are anticipated in the future.
