Incident Overview

The Bogus Lake fire was discovered late in the afternoon on October 8, 2024 just north of Bogus Lake within the Superior National Forest – Gunflint Ranger District. Superior National Forest and Minnesota DNR fire crews responded along with aircraft. The fire was active overnight to October 9. 10/9/24 - firefighters and aircraft will be onsite to continue suppression efforts. Cause:  unknown.  Threats:  none.10/10/24 - has handline, saw line, and is 100% plumbed with hose as of 1200 today.  Mop up operations are going well and making good progress.  The fire continues to take advantage of both USFS and DNR resources staffing the fire and working towards containment.
