Incident Overview

Snowden Fire was started by lightning on June 7th, 2023, and is a little over half a mile northeast of Washington Creek Campground. It is approximately 100 acres, burning in mostly ponderosa pine and mixed conifer along Beaver Creek Road (NFSR #247).

Brushing and grading Beaver Creek Road (NFSR #247) and Shanghai Road (NFSR #250) from Canyon Work Center to Kelly Work Center. 

Planned Actions
Brushing and grading up the NFSR #250 from Bungalow Bridge towards French Mountain Saddle.
Projected Incident Activity

12 hours: Inversion setup will calm winds and keep dense smoke in place. Increased moisture over the past couple of days will continue to produce good relative humidity recoveries overnight.

24 hours: Dense smoke will likely continue into the morning, keeping temperatures cool. Some clearing

Remarks
There are currently no closures, but impacts to Cave Point Trail may occur in the future.
